Why is Color Correction so Important anyway?? When filming, we usually choose a color profile that is flat, and doesn’t let a lot of color come through. I’m sure that sounds weird, and might seem like a strange idea – I mean, why not just get the good color straight from the camera? Honestly, it just doesn’t really work that way. While we can get pretty good color straight from camera, it might make some aspects of the shot a little strange-looking. Skin tones are a BIG problem area with in-camera color! And NO ONE likes to look orange! Simply put, camera’s don’t see the world the same way humans do. Camera’s interpret the world around them the best they can, but it will always be different.
More than likely you donβt actually spend that much time in front of the camera. Those of us humans that do, I genuinely commend you. But for the rest of us unsure folk, it can be, ehβ¦awkward. So naturally when your wedding day comes along, there can be a little concern.
Okay, so before we get too far along, I just want to take a moment to say that OF COURSE it is our responsibility, as your videographer, to offer you direction and help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera. We know thatβs our end of the deal – and we will totally do that for you! But what about the moments we canβt control?
